"Me and my wife came to Dubai in 2007. We started off very well. My wife was a banker and I owned a distribution business. I started getting big distribution contracts and expanded the business with handsome turnover.
But in 2010, things started getting shaky for me. I started losing business and eventually in 2012, the whole business collapsed. I got stuck in huge financial crises that led to legal matters and in no time we reached below poverty line.
In this turmoil I lost my passport and my visa expired too. Since I was sponsoring my family, their visa too got cancelled. We couldn't even get our son's birth certificate; who was born in 2011. Hence he didn’t have any official document in this country.
Whatever work I tried to start, it ended up in a big mess. With illegal status, we struggled a lot to pay our bills and event to buy food for our 3 little kids.
In this difficult situation I started leaning towards GOD and living in HIS protection. HE brought right people in our lives and we got connected to Dubai AFT Church. Pastor Donald and Sister Lissy and the entire Church stood with us in prayers. They supported us financially and spiritually for all these years.
We didn’t know how we are going to come out of our problems and change our illegal status, but with payers and by the Grace of GOD, in 2018 UAE government announced Amesty program for all the illegal people. This was the answer to our prayers. Our Pastor Donald once said to me, "When God takes over, everything is over". I got my passport back and after 7 years we got our Son's birth certificate. The fine that we had to pay for our illegal status was around 1million Dhs, which was impossible for us to pay. But with GOD's plan, our fine was waived off.
After 8 years of captivity, today we are free. All glory to God.
We thank Dubai AFT church family for standing with us and our Pastor Donald and Sister Lissy, who always supported us and never gave up on us.
Above all we thank our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who loved us unconditionally."
